“I am a global actress. I am in the best phase of my career right now,”

“I will be performing on Kolaveri Di... I decided about it the moment I heard it. The unique composition has already become a talking point. Apart from it, I will perform to songs like Jalebi Bai… and Bheege Hoth Tere…. There are others, which I am yet to shortlist,” says Mallika.

MallikaThe actor has, in a very short time, become an international star with films like the yet to be released Politics of Love but has no qualms about missing out on making an impact in Bollywood.

“I am a global actress. I am in the best phase of my career right now,” says Mallika, who is best remembered for her role in Mahesh Bhatt’s Murder (2004).

Although Murder was a big hit, Bhatt chose to make its sequel with actor Jacqueline Fernandez. However that didn’t affect Mallika.

it's no surprise that the film has a sizzling car wash sequence, with her all sudsy in a skimpy outfit. A part of the footage was leaked on to YouTube and has already received over 90,00 hits. "It's a song-and-dance dream sequence that has Kyle fantasising about Aretha... An ode to Bollywood," says Mallika, remembering how cold she was while shooting it. "It was a chilly day, the soap and water was dirty and I wasn't looking very glam. In between shots, they'd wrap me up in blankets so my teeth would stop clattering."

We have seen models and supermodels becoming the Brand Ambassadors of a zillion products, but if at all there was a Brand Ambassador for guts and confidence, this Birthday girl will win it hands down, for she is none other than the Madame' of Madames, the Royal Queen amongst the Princesses...Mallika Sherawat .

Having started her career in Bollywood with the much talked about Khawahish, Mallika made it to the big league with Murder, Bollywood's very own version of the Hollywood hit Unfaithful. She followed it up with a series of hits, mega hits and smash hits like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Aap Ka Suroor - The Moviee - The Real Love Story, to name a few.

Her fame was not just restricted to Indian frames alone, as it spread its wings to foreign shores also when she made a widely publicized appearance at the Cannes Film Festival to promote The Myth, alongside none other than the mega star Jackie Chan!

So much so that Mallika has even been voted as one of Asia's 100 most beautiful people by the Hong Kong based fashion and beauty magazine, 'Cover'

A car wash scene, she adds, was a first for her, but being a movie buff, she remembered Liv Tyler doing one in One Night At MacCool's (2001). "There's one in a Jessica Simpson video too," she says.

Simpson appeared in The Dukes Of Hazzard (2005) and released a cover of the 1966 Nancy Sinatra track 'These boots are made for walkin...'. The song was on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the video featured Simpson as Daisy Duke, singing in a bar and then washing the General Lee car in a pink bikini. In some countries, the video was banned for its sexual content and Simpson was criticised by a Christian group.

Mallika, who doesn't expect any controversy, is confident the scene will look hot in theatres and will be a hit. She laughs, "My fans like to see me drenched."
